I am looking for parents, siblings or other descendants of a BINDER family that lived in Mittelsteinach, Mittelfranken, Bayern, in the 1830s. My great-great-grandmother, Katharina Margaretha BINDER was born there 16 Jul 1836. I do not know who her parents were, or if she had any siblings. She left there for America sometime shortly after 1850, I believe, as she was married in Allegheny City (now part of Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania, USA, 17 Dec 1854, to a man who had lived in the US for about 10 years, Heinrich (Henry) PETEREINS. I do not know if other members of her family also came to the USA or not, but I have not found any. She was Evangelisch.
I would love to find descendants of any siblings or other relatives she might have had who did not emigrate. The LDS does not have any microfilmed records from that area of Mittelfranken as far as I know, and writing to Germany for records has been an expensive proposition, as I learned awhile ago when I was tracking her husband's ancestry.
