Bessarabian Colonies - Krasna

Greetings!

I will open with apologies for not writing in German. My German is atrocious, so I will not attempt to inflict this upon you.

I am posting to this group to determine if anyone has information to share regarding the German emigration to Bessarabia, through Poland, early in the 19th century (1803-1816).

I am attempting to identify the origins of my maternal family, JANUSCHAITIS. I know that the family ended-up in Krasna, Bessarabia (the Catholic colony), and was there apparently from the establishment of the colony. The census niformation from Krasna lists my grandfather (Peter JANUSCHAITIS) and great-grandfather (Andreas JANUSCHAITIS) as Lithuanian, but they were definitely German from Lithuania.

I know they came from a village named Rezgalia, Suwalky, Lithuania (which at the time I believe was in Poland, but is presently in Lithuania, near the Polish border.

I believe the JANUSCHAITIS family were originally from either Prussia or Bavaria, but have nothing to trace them back further than Rezgalia. Any information regarding this surname or the regions would be helpful.

Thank you so much for any information or resources you are able to share.
