Hi Chuk,
the only 2 Bernsteins I know are in Upper Frankonia in Bavaria , but I haven't heard of any in Prussia.
I don't know if that might help you.

The LDS people have films of records from Bernstein, Kreis Soldin, Brandenburg.

If it is Bernstein in County Soldin: this is province Brandenburg in
Prussia, but not East- or West-Prussia.

As for the registers: I wrote that in detail in my mail
