I am new to this list and hopeful that it may be beneficial to my
research. My great, great grandparents emigrated to the USA from Mecklenburg in
1853, I believe using the port of Hamburg. Their names were Wilhelm (William)
and Sophia Berner, and they came to the United States with their four children.
William was born 10 April 1809 and Sophia 3 March 1810.
I would like to know from which town they came from in Mecklenburg and
what Sophia's name was before they were married. Perhaps then I can locate
more of their ancestry.
