Hi,
My GGGrandfather Dietrich Ludwig August Friedrich Bergmann was born in
Hannover in 1834. He came to Fredrikstad in Norway, probably between 1851 and 1855. His brother(?) Friedrich born 1824 and his 2 sons, Heinrich b.1855 and Wilhelm b 1860, visited Dietrich in Moss, Norway in 1875. They where all carpenters. Dietrich married a norvegian girl, Anette Marie Larsdatter Hafslund
27.dec.1842. They got 7 children. Does someone have any informations about Dietrich's parents / ancestors?

Hi,
I have found the death of Dietrich i the churchbook: He was born 14 febr 1834 in Elsdorf, Hannover. The place was difficult to read, it could be Eisdorf, Eisdorf, Elfdorf or Ebsdorf, but probably Elsdorf. Can anybody help me?

I have the LDS microfilms for the Elsdorf church records. I looked for the
birth record you referenced but it is not there. In fact, I found no
Bergmann's in the records I scanned.

Thank you for yours replay and yours investigations!
I beleave it must be in another xxxdorf. It seems to be many of them :

In the former Kingdom of Hannover exist:
29574 Ebstorf (near Uelzen),
37534 Eisdorf (near Osterode/Harz),
27404 Elsdorf (now part of Ehestorf, between Bremen and Hamburg).
In other parts of Germany also exist Ebsdorf, 2 other Eisdorf and 5 other
Elsdorf too.............
In the churchbook it was written: xxxdorf Hannover Tyskland. I don't know if the meaning (1834) was " the kingdom " or the " Region of Hannover". Maybe the last?
Paul, where is "your Elsdorf" (so I can exclud that)
Petter
The Elsdorf for which I have LDS church records is in the Rotenburg (Wumme)
district and is located very near the autobahn about half way between Bremen
and Hamburg.
