I have noticed your emails on several occasions on a RootsWeb mailing list. I hope I am not intruding but have come to an impasse in searching for my grandmother's birth record, and hope that perhaps you might be able to direct me.
She was born 26 Apr 1850 in a place called Bargfeld, but I do not know which one, since I did find several locations with the same name. My great-grandfather was born in Seedorf, great-grandmother in Dargow, and they were married in Seedorf. I have been able to find grandmother's two brother and one sister, all of whom were born in Klein Zecher. In the confirmation record of one of the brother, in 1845, although he was confirmed in Seedorf, it shows his father as currently living in Bargfeld. I would not think that the family would remain separated by too great a distance. Is there a Bargfeld somewhere in the region?
The family later settled in Ba"k (bei Ratzeburg) and one brother was later married in Dargow, the other brother and the sister were married in the Dom in Ratzeburg, as were my grandparents, Dorothea Catharina Elisabeth Kahler and Christian Friedrich Joachim Berlin.
My question is would you have any idea about where I might locate records for a Bargfeld. I have looked through the FHL listings and the few references available and find no answer. (Her birthdate and location were noted in the church marraige record.)
Thank you ever so much for any help you might be able to offer. I am very much enjoying going through all the records that have been found thus far and have found a treasure trove of information and history.
I remain,
Very sincerely yours,
