List members,
I probably spelled it wrong, but can anyone share with me what this area is? What it may have been in 1834?
Thanks
Marsha

on.

Hi Marsha,
There is the town of Bad Oeynhausen (in Westfalen) that is east of
Osnabruck on E 30 Highway. It is southeast of Minden. Check on the LDS
catalog--it is listed there.

Hi Marsha,
I just finished some research in the Bad Oyenhausen area, specifically the churches of Eidinghausen and Rehme. The area is just south of the city of Minden, Germany and east of Bielefeld. Although not part of Shaumburg-Lippe there is a map on Jim Eggert's website that shows a portion of Bad Oyenhausen. Click the lower left of the following map.

My lines in Bad Oyenhausen include WIELE/WEHLE, GROTEFELD, SIMKEMEIERS, FREUND, EIKERMEIER, and STIEGMANN. Most of my German roots came from the area surrounding Minden.
The following link will give you a list of the Church records for Bad Oyenhausen that the LDS as online.
Good luck and don't hesitate to email direct if you have any questions.

Good morning Marsha,
Bad Oyenhausen is Minden-Ravensberg, Prussia. It should be with the
family history library,
or at the Kirchenkreis-Amt in Minden city.
Oeynhausen was the noble family who owned large parts of is.
The old name is Neusalzwerk because of the salt that was refined there.
Until 1868 it was church parish Rehme.
An for Rehme: former Ravensberg Amt Vlotho
including Rehme (Babbenhausen, NIederbecksen, Oberbecksen), parts of
Dehme, Lohe
and until 1868 Bad Oeynhausen, former Neusalzwerk, parish was exluded in
1868
REHME vital records (baptisms, marriages, burials) go back to 1648
