Aufuldish

Good morning from NE Ohio,
The present spelling of my name is AUFULDISH. However, it has been
spelled some 15 different ways in the US census, birth, marriage and death records.
The question is:
How did my relatives get from Germany to America. I believe they came from
the Baden area.
Examples: 1850 US census list the spelling as: ALLFOOLISH. One son,
John who is listed here is my great-grandfather. The 1860 census list the
spelling as: AUFFIDISH.
Eventually it is spelled AUFULDISH in the census.
Any suggestions of help would be greatly appreciated.

Aufuldish is no name you can find in a German phonebook
The best will be - you tell all 15 ways of writing, maybe we find out which
is right in Germany. How is the spelling in the immigration-papers - where
did they immigrate ?
Have you looked for passengers records ?
Why do you think they came from Baden - you should tell everything you
know.
We are no visionary and there is no guaranty that we are able to guess
something right.

Sorry - no suggestions at the moment
Christine
