I am trying to trace my G.G.Grandfathers Birth place,his Name was Bernhart Vilhelm Asbrandt,
the only other information that has been handed down to me, is that he was born in Prussia in 1778 and
was Christened Bernhart Vilhelm Asbrandt, He was a Sea Captain and a Merchant with Trading Interests ashore in England. Where he Married my G.G.Grandmother in the Poole Parish Church (Dorset) in the Year 1806. By that time he had changed his Name to Bernard William Osborne, The church register
shows that he was a Widower at the time of his Marriage. So it is possible that his first wife came from Prussia ! One of his daughters was Christened Winifred DAGMAR Osborne I dont know if that could be a German Name ! I would be very pleased if any of your members could tell me if there are any Asbrandt
Families Living today in Germany. (Bernhart Drowned in the Bay of Biscay in a Storm in 1829 )
