Any Ideas?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for my GGG Grandfather Heinrich Christian Wehler who came over with his wife Wilhelmina Meier and seven children about 1846. They were in Clayton Co., Iowa by the 1850 census.

Heinrich was born abt 1803 in Prussia.

Wilhelmina was born 16 Feb 1808 in Prussia

These are the name of their children as of the 1850 census:

Lowduick born abt 1829

Peter born abt 1835

Gustav born on 31 Mar 1839

Elvia born abt 1841

Carl William born on 22 May 1842

Sophia born abt 1845

And 1 girl was not on the census.

They were all born in Prussia.

On Gustav's obituary it states that he was born in Berlin, Brandenburg, Prussia. Does anyone know whom or where I can find any help from this area? I have looked at the film from the LDS church for his birth in Berlin, but he was not listed.

Thank you for all your help.

Hi Diana:

Wehler doesn't seem to be a very popular spelling (good for you!?!). Chance
that the names could have been changed to Wheler, Wheeler depending on the
pronunciation I suppose.

Possible grandaughter? Found a Paulina Wehler giving birth on 27 Apr 1893 in
Minnehaha County, South Dakota to Henry Carl Peters. Husband was Henry
Peters. Good hunting
