Could you tell me more on how Mecklenberg and Norway came about in your story
....
My KROHN relative came to the USA (michigan) and when he filled out the some
information the country Norway came up.......not all his documents stated
this.......some of the documents mentioned Norway........

In the 17th and 18th century, the officer profession was in many ways an
international profession. It seems that a very large number of young
Mecklenburg noblemen became officers of the Danish, Norwegian and
Swedish armies in the period ca. 1650-1720, many settling for good in
these countries. Very little of this happened after 1720. However, also
Mecklenburg merchants and craftsmen settled in Scandinavia, many of
these probably also later (up to the 19th century).
