Annaburg

I am in search of the village/town "Annaburg" in the US. Which state? Who is
able to help?
Thank You
Wilhelm (Thiele)

The only one in the U.S. I can find. Ken Craft, Norcross, Georgia

Annaburg Manor (1894) (Manassas, Virginia)

USA / Virginia / Manassas / Manassas, Virginia

house, place with historical importance

I did a quick Google search and did not find a specific town of that name in the US. However that does not say there is no community in the US called Annaburg, or a spelling variation.

To find you community it would help to have the time period the town existed and the names of the people in your search. Was your family in the US census, if so that will narrow down the location. Have you notice any spelling variation in your search?

If it ever existed it can be found. I found Berry's Lick, Kentucky, a extremely small community in southern Kentucky in the early 1800's. Of course I knew the family I was looking for, and a general idea of where the community existed.

With this additional information I would be glad to help you find the community.

Hi Wilhelm:
Your e-mail indicates you are in Germany. At the risk of insulting
you, I will note that there is a town Annaburg in Wittenberg district
   in Saxony-Anhalt.

More seriously, how confident are you of the spelling? Is it a name
which was orally passed down to you? Was it hand written and possibly
misread? For an example there is the town of Annaberg-Buchholz with
one letter changed. Of course when one gets to the States, words get
messed up, misspelled, pronounced phonetically, etc.

I could even see the change to Fort Anne. The fort being a castle.
