Anna Margaretha Kruse

Hello Mrs. Carrick,

in our database we have a Johann Hinrich and a Maria Anna Kruse. These two left Germany in 1853. We think these persons where the same which arrived in NYC at 16 Nov 1853. Our source says that they came from the parish Langförden which is situated north of Vechta and belongs in 1853 to the "Amt Vechta".

A copy of this I sent to Mr. von Husen. I hope he can help us to identify the persons.

Best regards,

Gunter Jüchter

Thanks, Gunter. I'm not yet convinced this is the correct person. Maybe Mr.
von Husen can find the siblings. Maria is supposed to have left Germany in
1845 and I have three different years for Anna's emigration. Kruse is such
a common name and with Maria, Anna, and Heinrich as first names this might
be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Beth

Hi, Beth.

Are the Harmon and Anna CONORMAN in the 1860 census yours? Is the Clara McNally in the 1920 census your great-grandmother? I've poked around here a bit, but don't have enough information.

I wouldn't worry about different immigration dates in the census -- happens all the time. Neither would I worry too much about "Hannover" instead of "Oldenburg" in a census record.

If you want to email me and give me a better idea of what you already know for sure, I'll see what I can do -- no promises, but maybe another set of eyes will help.
