Ankum-Aslage Zumdohme - Peterschmidt

Hello Silvia Happel-Zumdohme,
I found your messages about the Zumdohme family on the German message board. My husbands grandmother was Sophie Bernadine Zumdohme born April 2,1876 in Ankum-Aslage,Hannover,Germany. She emigrated from Bremen to Baltimore,Maryland,US in May,1896. We know she had two sisters,Mary b.1863 & Wilhemia b.1869, Zumdohme.Sophie was married around 1898 to Clemens Peterschmidt, originally from Osnabruck,Germany. Her two sisters were married to two of Clemens brothers(three sisters married three brothers ) I also have an obituary card for a Theodor Zumdohme b.July 3,1866,died July 7,1940 in hospital in Holte,Germany.I don't know for sure but I wonder if this is a brother who stayed in Germany when the girls came to the US. The Zumdohmes & the Peterschmidt lived in Ft. Madison,Iowa,US. Clemens & Sophie went to La Crosse,Wisconsin,US around 1907. They lived there the rest of their lives. If you can help me find some information on this family I would be very happy. Thank you. Jane Ristow Peterschmidt

Hello,
There are several Zumdohme listed in the phone book of Germany. There
are two in Ankum:

49577 Ankum, Auf der Lage 2
Zumdohme Erich (0 54 62) 16 24
