ANKE MARGARETE BEHRENS was born in Hanover about 1838, the child of Onke Behrens
and Anke Margarete REDELFS; she married Johann Friedrick SIEFKEN (b. Dec 9,
1842, Wiarden, Niedersachsen). They had a male child, Onke, born Nov. 20, 1868,
in Minsen, Niedersachsen. Also, Johann Siefken's mother's family was MEY and
MIENIETS, his maternal grandparents are buried in Minsen.
Johann's father, Gerd Siefken, and his son, Onke (later Garrett), came to the
USA in the 1870's. Johann married Etha Catherina Tanisen and they had a child
in 1878 in Illinois, USA.
The problem: I have been unable to learn anything about the death or divorce of
Anke M. Behrens SIEFKEN. He son was born in 1868 and again gave birth in 1871
to a stillborn child. Her husband and son then immigrated to the US in the
early 1870's. Did she die giving birth? If so, is there a record of her death
or buriel?
