I am looking for information on Christian Frederick Malte Behrendt. have
found a record of him (last name spelled Berendt) arriving in NY 15 Aug
1882, place of origin Preußen, Germany, port of departure Hamburg, Germany
and Le Havre, France. I believe he was born in Garz, Rügen, on 2 Mar 1856,
son of Johann Frederick Andreas Behrendt and Maria. Catharine, Fredericka
(?). He left a brother Carl and sister Emilie (twins) in Germany when he
emmigrated to the states. Emilie later married an August KLATT.
When Malte came to the states he married his first wife in an Evangelical
Church, after that I can find no other religious connections.
I found your address in Kartenmeister. It looks like your relations are in
another area of Germany, but thought I would ask if you know of my
ancestors.
