Hi there,
I am researching my German ancestor & have hit a brick wall in
determining where my ANDERMANN branch originated. All Andermanns who
reside in Louisiana are descendants of my great great grandfather
Antoine Andermann (early 1800s). I have found other Andermann
descendants in other US states (Minnesota + Iowa + Illinois + Missouri)
who trace back to Hannover, Germany (mid 1800s), however, have been
unable to establish paper trail that links the branches. At this point,
I am trying DNA testing in hopes to find a connection.
My brother Roy Andermann has taken Ydna test & has been identified as
belonging to haplogroup R-M269. However, there were no matches to his 37
markers. The problem is that there are no other Andermanns in the
database(s). Therefore, we are creating a ANDERMANN surname project &
trying to recruit other males to test. Although, we know that Andermanns
were originally from Hannover, we are not in contact with anyone in
Germany today. I am searching for living Andermanns in Hannover & was
hoping you could guide me on best approach to spread the word (see
communication below). thanks for your help, Laurie
