Hello Hannover listers,

Would someone be so kind as to help me with the next step in my family
history search?

What and how is the best way do I contact the following Lutheran parishes in
the Amt Hagen, Hannover?
Büttel
Sandstedt
Wersabe
Bruch
Uthlede
Bramstedt
Wulsbüttel
Hagen

Also, does any lister know if the census has been completed for these
parishes?

I would like to find a gggrandfather's birthplace, Heinrich Oltman
SCHWARTING, born April 1849 and as an orphan came to the United States when he was 9
years old. Can't find him on a ship's list or in the 1860 or 1870 New York Census.

I do enjoy the Hannover website and I thank all that help us in our family
research. It is truly appreciated.

      Are you near an LDS center? They have microfilm for nearly all the
villages you mentioned. You can see what they have by going to
www.familysearch.org - Search for Ancestors - Family History Catalog -
Go to "place" and then search from there for each town.

Hello again,

     What is the significance of the second name of Oltman? Could he have
been born Oltman and then was adopted by a Schwarting family? Orphans are
hard to trace!
