As for the USA & Ursula's comments during WW2. Australia had
similar proclamations/Laws. Non citizens had to report to the local Police
Station in their district, become registered & were required not to own
weapons etc.
My Father was a German, Naturalised Australian Citizen,(1905)
even so he was subjected to "Inquiries" as to weapons in his possession?( As
we lived in a rural setting in those days, he owned a Winchester .22
repeating rifle, the number of that rifle was filed by the local Police
Sergent at that time) He was also an NES Air-raid warden & a St Johns
Ambulance officer for the local district. No one was more staunch/proud
about Australia than my Father!He often said that he was here by choice &
not just because it was his place of birth!
Well known by all in that then relatively small district, as
he was also the Collector for the Voluntary Ambulance fund that existed in
those days & known as "The Man in The white Hat" by many of the areas'
children, because he always wore the St Johns Ambulance cap when on
collection duties.
