Yes, I have the record of Albert on the Northhampton and I assume this is
him with a misspelling of his last name (his name on the United States
census has been spelled Bussing, Busing and Bushing). Does anyone know what
the German meaning of the name Büssing is? Albert was a barrel maker and
I've read that the name Büss or Büssing means "to make barrels". Once
again, sorry if my German is poor. I'm still learning. His death
certificate states that his father's name was William and his mother's name
was Gertrude. However, I understand that German Catholics often used
different names than what was common when they came to the United States.
