I am looking for information about my GG Grandmother, Agnes Morhaus (Mohrhaus). Agnes came to the United States from Bremen on the ship Sophie, arriving in Baltimore, 11 August 1838. She lists her age in 1838 as 51, her husband Joseph 31, and her son Bernard 12. Joseph was probably her second husband and he likely took her name to protect property. She only gives her German residence as Damme. Once in the US, the family resided in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.
Could anyone suggest how I could go about finding her first husband’s name (my GG Grandfather) and if and when he died? I suspect his name was Bernard. Also, any suggestions on how I could determine Agnes's maiden name?
