He was born in Bohlschau and his full given name was August Albert Frederich Ahfeldt. The name later became Affeldt for reasons not yet known. He married a Matilda Hepner (?)for whom no info has been learned other than that after they came to the US via the Port of Baltimore in October 1895. They settled in MD where relatives still reside.
