May it be possible that the name has changed from L�DECKE (LUEDECKE) or
L�DDECKE (LUEDDECKE) into LIEDECKE because of the German "Umlaut"-writing?

For years I was under the impression that one of my ancestors was
LIEDEBRAND. I was finally able to get some documents relating to her and
found out she was really a L�DEBRAND.
