Dear OWP-USA-Members,
Is there anyone who knows about any address-books (starting 1920 and ending in 1994/96) of Atlanta, Georgia ?
Or any address of City administration (City hall, Legal Court), where I could get some information about "Ed" (Edmond or
Edward) CARTER ?
He was born between 1926/28 in Atlanta, GA (Fulton Coiunty) and died between 1994/96 (probably there, too !)
He was a black male.
" It (he) ain't heavy - he's my father.........
Kind regards --- Gisela (Sanders)

Atlanta is a very large city. There are city directories which are similar
to address books published almost every year for a city this size.
Ancestry.com has copies up to 1960. Ed CARTER is a very common name, so it
might be difficult to narrow your search to your specific Ed. If you know
his parents, brothers and sisters, you may want to start with the US
Federal census for 1930 and 1940 to locate him. If he died in the 1990's
you should be able to find him in the social security death index.
A couple of possible resources might be the Georgia Genealogical Society (
www.gagensociety.org) or the Georgia Historical Society (
www.georgiahistory.com). There are probably other genealogical and
historical societies that would have records of interest as well.
There may also be other researchers on this list that are more familiar
with researching in Atlanta.
Good luck!

For all your help I want to thank you all so much ! I appreciate any little information.
I will put those little "puzzles" together and see where else I can look for my father.
Thanks for important links, also.
You guys are wonderful people !!!
Take care, and with kind regards from Germany --- Gisela (Sanders)
