Dear history friends
My name is Ron van der Heijden and I'm looking for my ancestors named Addicks
During my search I found out that the Addicks (addiks, addeks, addekes ) family lived in Oldenburg.
My earliest Addicks is Oltman Addicks born Oldenbrok, Oldenburg.
His son Johan Christoffer Addicks, maybe born 1754 has married an Amsterdam girl named Johanne Gudde .
I noticed the last day that a lot of searchers came with questions about emigrants.
Is there some information about emigrants to the nertherlands, especially to amsterdam.
The Addicks family were famous in the Netherlands because they are builders of clocks in towers
Johannes Hermanus Addicks was the official clock builder of amsterdam
Is there any information in Oldenburg about the clocks
Are there any drawings of the early days of Oldenbrok
are there any photograps of oldenbrok.
Regards Ron
Hello,
I too, am researching ancestors named Addicks from Oldenberg and
Ostfriesland. Would you check to see if your genealogy connects to my
ancestors? This is the data that I have.
Johann Addicks DOM 3 Jun 1783 spouse Almut Hopken of Sarve - (I have copies
of this event)
Johann Heinrich Addicks DOB 10 Mar 1784, spouse Catharine Margrete Muller of
Abbehausen (data from the birth register of Johann and marriage of Anna
their daughter)
Anna Friederike Addicks DOB 9 Apr 1823, DOM 28 Apr 1859 in Abbehausen,DOD 26
Oct 1869, spouse Johann Friedrich Hermann Jurgens of Apens
I have some of this documented, but not of the marriage, etc of Johann
Addicks and his spouse Almut.
The Jurgens part of this genealogy has a reunion in 2008, so that any
information I can add is a real plus. Thank you for your time.

Hello,

I have some Addix:
Henriette Friederike Conradine Sophie Addix, b. 5Jul1814 Ovelgnne, chr. 24Jul 1814 Ovelgnne, daughter of Christian Georg Addix, merchant, and
Anna Catharina ne Imken. (Ev.-luth. Kirchengemeinde Ovelgnne, Kirchenstrae 4, 26939 Ovelgnne, parish register Ovelgnne, Births p. 33 Nr. 14.)
Dorothee Catharina Addix (or Addicks), m. Henrich Ordemann, merchant in Delmenhorst, children: Gesine Margarethe Ordemann, b. 24Mar1772 in Delmenhorst, Rebke Gerhard Ordemann, b. abt. 1785 in Delmenhorst.
Hello List,
I, too, have an Addicks or two, in my tree.
Margaretha Addicks born circa 1745 married Anton Friedrich Wedemeyer 8 June 1769. He was the customs collector in Delmenhorst. She died there 31 May 1777. Her father was Addick Addicks, zollpaechter.
They had two children: Susanna Helena Wedemeyer b. 25 Apr 1771 and Addick Anton Wedemeyer b. 24 June 1773.
Anton Friedrich Wedemeyer married again. This time, to a Margaretha Addix of Suederfeld/Hammelwarden. I think the chances are good that both his wives were related despite the variant spelling. He had 5 more children with her, all born in Delmenhorst.
I think there must be some connection to some of the other Addickses mentioned. Can anyone help?
Many thanks, Nicole Wedemeyer Miller
There are also Addicks' names in the Orstfamilienbuch Berne. Jurgen Addicks, son of Marten Addicks, married a Wardenburg. See my webpage: WARDENBURG genealogy
