Abstammungsnachweis

Hi,

I believe "Abstammungsnachweis is a very new thing recently invented. (1970)
"Geburtsurkunde", birth-certificate has been replaced bei
Abstammungsnachweis.
The Arier-Ausweis showed only 3 or 4 generations of the father's as well as
the mother's side, and all Germans had to fill it out and have it signed by
the police, town-mayor etc.

There also existed a small Ahnenpaß for 15 couples and a big version
-book-like - for 150 couples, always showing birth, marriage and death of husband
and wife.This was voluntary.
Those who still have the big version of that Ahnenpaß have been spared a lot
of while looking for their ancesters.

Hi all,
as far ar I know not all Germans had to fill out the Ahnenpass.
All people who worked in a public or governmental position (like teachers ....) had to show such an Ahnenpass. The reason was that only people with "Arier" ancesters are allowed to work in such positions.
All other people are asked to do that (e.g. sometimes the children had to do such research projects at school) but they are not forced to do the research.
