As the assistant administrator for the Clinton County Illinois website
(www.rootsweb.com/~ilclint2), I would like to invite any listers with
ancestors that settled in "the German Belt" to vist our site.
Many settlers from Hannover and surrounding areas settled in Clinton County,
some as early as the 1830's. Our website has a wealth of full databases
online, including censuses, cemetery readings, birth, marriage and death
listings, military information, and much more. On occassion, because of
copyright restrictions, or because we are currently working on the full
information database, we have only an index online, but will be happy to do
lookups.
If you think you have an ancestor who might have settled in our area, please
