1852 Census query

Hi Yvonne:

Barbara just listed the URL for the 1852 census for someone else. Here it is
again. I found all of my GF's family through it.

I looked at the surname list Jens has on this site and found one Shrader listed.
Also I did not find Osterode am Harz listed. I am guessing that it is Osterode
Amt. Harz. Osterode is the town, Amt. means something like county in the U.S.
(not exactly, but close) and Harz would be the name of the county or Kreis. I
found Osterode on the map in, what appears to me to be Kreis Harz. It is south
an a little east of Hanover.

I am sure that there is someone on the list who can give you some thing which
has more clarity.

For Yvonne,

Relative to the town of Osterode am Harz. The name Osterode am Harz is
correct as it refers to the town of Osterode which is in the Harz mountains.
This is to distinguish it from other towns named Osterode.
