Unfortunately, Broderstorf is not on any of these films, and there is no
trace of MB Rostock. I have been told MB stands for Munizipal-Bezirk.
Other towns grouped in MB Rostock according to the Index are: Kessin,
Kassebohm, Beselin, Hohen-Schwarfs, Ikendorf und Broderstorf, Riekdahl,
Fresendorf Antiel, Elmenhorst Anteil, Lutten Klein, Evershagen, Goldenitz,
Schlage, Volkenshagen, Finkenberg, Vogtshagen Hof, Vogtshagen Dorf,
Cordshagen, Landkrug, Bussewitz, Rovershagen und Stuthof, Jurgeshof,
Purkshof, Dierkow, Bentwisch, Bartelstorf, Gross Kussewitz, and Klein
Kussewitz.
I have a list downloaded from www.bohnsack.org that contains town and parish
names and film numbers for the 1819 and 1867 censuses. Some of the town
names look like they've been run thru a translator......ie "Hans
peat".......and I don't know how complete this list is.
What I found was:
Ivendorf, parish Hans peat......#0069204
Evershagen and Elmenhorst, parish Lechtenhagen.........#0069292-0069295
Goeldennitz, parish Petschow........#0069424-0069425
It also lists the addresses of the registrar's offices:
Rostock 1: Standesamt, Neuer Market 1, 18055 Rostock
Rostock 2: Ortsamt, Albrecht-Tischbein-Str. 47-48, 18109 Rostock
I hope this helps.

Hi Linda
I checked the film numbers you gave me when I went to the LDS library
yesterday, but unfortunately all of them refer to church records. Thanks
for taking the time to reply though, I appreciate all offers of assistance.
Thanks again for your interest.

Leonie,
I just looked at the family search site and the film numbers for the 1819
census are all there. What location were you looking for???

Hi Klaus Dieter
I am looking for the town of Broderstorf, halfway between Rostock and Sanitz.
It is listed as Ikendorf und Broderstorf and is part of MB Rostock.
Where to find MB Rostock is the problem. I have looked at Rostock (RA),
Rostock (Stadt) and Rostocker Militar Distrikte, and can't find it anywhere.
All the other towns that are part of MB Rostock must be somewhere as well.
I have the index fiche at my local LDS library, and found my PRUSS family
from Broderstorf, still there in 1819. I am desperate to find the
birthplace of one of them, Magdalena Maria Dorothea BEHRENS-when she
married in 1793, the record says her father was Johann Friedrich BEHRENS
'something' (but not weiland) arbeitsmann in Stralsund, so I want to know
if she was born in Pommern or Mecklenburg. I haven't been able to find her
death record as she went to live with her daughter when her daughter
married, and they moved about all over the place. Her husband Michel PRUSS
died in 1810 (she was his second wife), but her daughter didn't marry until
1822, so I hope that the PRUSS family in Broderstorf in 1819 will include
them.
I also have JASPER family in Zarnekov (MB Wismar) as well, but until I can
track down MB Rostock, I won't even try to find MB Wismar!
I am working my way through ALL the films with JASPAR/JASPER on them. Lucky
for me, there's not many.
If you have any suggestions, I would welcome them. I'm at the stage where I
will try almost anything to find the elusive Broderstorf!
Many thanks
