Hi
I am trying to find the film number which contains the village of
Broderstorf in the 1819 census.
I have consulted the index and found that members of my Preuss family were
there.
I then checked the index to find where the village was located, and it says
MB Rostock.
Last time I asked if anyone knew what the MB stood for, I got what seemed
like a possible lead-that it was the Rostocker Military District.
I have now looked at the film for Rostocker Military District, and none of
the towms listed as on the MB Rostock are on it. In fact, it contains a
list of soldiers, by the looks of it. What else could I expect??
Some (or maybe all, I'm not sure) of the towns listed as on MB Rostock are:
Kessin, Kassebohm, Beselin, Hohen-Schwarfs, Ikendorf und Broderstorf (the
one I want), Riekdahl, Fresendorf Anteil, Elmenhorst Anteil, lutten-klein,
Evershagen, Goldenitz, Schlage, Volkenshagen, Finkenberg, Vogtshagen Hof,
Vogtshagen Dorf, Cordshagen, Landkrug, Bussewitz, Rovershagen und Stuthof,
Jurgeshof, Purkshof, Dierkow, Bentwisch, Bartelshof, Gross-Kussewitz,
Klein-Kussewitz.
Has anyone researched a family in any of these towns???
Maybe you can give me a clue where to find the film number.
I have looked at many films of the 1819 census before, and never found any
problems-apart from family members missing, of course!
No-one at my local LDS library can tell me what the MB stands for, and even
consulting the notes at the beginning for abbreviations doesn't help.
If anyone can offer some advice as to how I can track down this MB Rostock,
I would really appreciate it.
Regards
Leonie Oliver (nee Jasper)
PS I have looked at the parish register for Kessin. This is the parish to
which Broderstorf belongs, but I want now to check the census.
